Spikes or no spikes? Balls, magnets, springs or elastomers? Transmit the vibration to the support to evacuate it or absorb the energy? At the head of Neodio, Stéphane Even points out, with regard to cables, “the non-correlation between measurements and feeling, the instability of sound quality”. He relates an experiment conducted in 2017 which led him to designate “the water molecule, present in our environment, as the cause of all these anomalies”. After the Origine B2 acoustic purifier (see no. 726), it is the turn of the Harmonie screw-on feet based on the same research. The shape? A sort of stainless steel spinning top 49 mm in diameter, 26 mm high with a cylindrical base that rests on the ground on a surface of approximately 1 cm2. Brass inserts of 6, 8 or 10 mm are available to adapt to a large majority of speakers, but also hi-fi furniture.
Listening
Adapting them to the Focal Spectral 40th took only a few minutes. Immediate sensation of a positively degreased message, made more readable and more assertive. The spectral balance progresses, the sound planes are more easily distinguished from each other. It is not only subtle, it plays as if we were going from a standard lens to a high-resolution lens in a photo. This degreasing power is not trivializing: the bass remains tonic and tense, even percussive. The midrange zone is enriched with numerous spatial information. A justified investment? Yes, if we favor a form of truth in the creation of a living space.
